On Wednesday 14 April, the Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Health, Senator Professor Pierpaolo Sileri, was hosted for a working lunch at the Magistral Villa. Senator Sileri was received – observing the due COVID -19 measures – by Ambassador Stefano Ronca, Minister Counsellor Enrico Floridi, Embassy Counsellor Luca Rovati and Dr. Marina Favale.

The lunch was also attended by the Diplomatic Counsellor of the Ministry of Health, Ambassador Davide La Cecilia, Professor Domenico Arduini and Dr MostafĂ  Amini.

The topics of discussion were the bilateral cooperation between the Order of Malta and the Italian Republic, in particular the activities carried out by the Order of Malta’s Italian Ambulance Corps (CISOM) volunteers in Italy during the COVID-19 health emergency and the hospital activities in which the Order has always been active.

Another topic of discussion was the development of telemedicine and medical telecommunication in Italy, as a set of medical and IT techniques enabling remote treatment of a patient, thus facilitating care and relations with due caution even in remote places.
