Ambassador Stefano Ronca, head of the Order of Malta’s delegation, received the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin on 27 July in the Magistral Villa in Rome.
Numerous topics were discussed during the talks, which took place in an atmosphere of great cordiality. They ranged from the situation in the Middle East to that in North Africa, from the phenomenon of migration to the Russian Federation’s relations with the United States and the European Union. The intention to celebrate next year the thirtieth anniversary of the diplomatic relations established in 1992 was reaffirmed.
Currently, the Order of Malta in Russia runs social activities for needy and homeless families in Moscow and St. Petersburg: activities even more essential at the time of the COVID-19.
