On the afternoon of 15 April, the Greek Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, visited the Magistral Villa, accompanied by the Greek Ambassador to Italy, Theodoros Passas, and a delegation from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Alternate Minister Varvitsiotis was received – observing the due COVID-19 measures – by Ambassador Stefano Ronca, Minister Counsellor Enrico Floridi, Embassy Counsellor Luca Rovati and Dr. Marina Favale.

In an atmosphere of cordiality and friendship, the Alternate Minister visited the Villa and gardens, stopping also at the Pozzo dei Templari, and admired the Church of Santa Maria del Piranesi.

Greece and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta have in fact established diplomatic relations since January 2018. The beginning of these relations can be formalised once the ratification procedure in the Athens Parliament has been completed.
