The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, was received by the Sovereign Order of Malta this morning at the Magistral Palace in Rome. Ambassador Stefano Ronca took part in the meeting, reiterating over 70 years of excellent diplomatic relations.
In talks with the Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Riccardo Paterno’ di Montecupo, Prime Minister Mikati stressed the difficult crises Lebanon is facing, the issue of humanitarian corridors to Syria and the significance of the humanitarian assistance provided by the Order of Malta in regard to both of these concerns.
The Order of Malta is the vanguard for providing health and social care to the most vulnerable nationwide. It is far-reaching and includes summer camps for the severely disabled, mobile clinical units, agro-humanitarian projects, and the recent inauguration of a new health centre.
