The Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Italy, Stefano Ronca, remembers the Grand Master, Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre, in a video message for Agenzia DIRE.

“If I had to choose a quote to summarise the figure of the Grand Master I would use “Omnia munda mundis“, “o the pure all things are pure”. A quote from the Letters of Paul to Titus, which in terms of modern psychology could perhaps be translated into an ability to project the good and the kindness around ourselves. He was the Grand Master, but he always remained Fra’ Giacomo. During his three years at the guide of the Sovereign Order of Malta, the Order’s international projection has grown tremendously, and not only because diplomatic relations with various important countries have increased – think of Germany and later Estonia. The Grand Master has given a great impulse to what we call the Order’s Humanitarian Diplomacy: the attention to the most fragile and weakest populations, especially those in areas of conflict.

The Grand Master left the Order with a greater order, preparing it for the conclusion of a Reform necessary to adapt the Order of Malta to the present times.
He left an atmosphere of great harmony, friendship and cooperation between all members, especially here in the Magistral Palace.”
